Who Am I
Hi, I'm Joeva
I’m a French-Belgian photographer with a global soul — I’ve lived in 7 countries and counting, and I truly see myself as a citizen of the world. Though I hold a master’s degree, my real education came through life itself: from wild adventures to unexpected jobs across continents, I’ve always followed my curiosity and passion.
Today, I’m 34 and based in Canada, where I divide my time between capturing pet and family moments — and spending several months each year traveling the globe to photograph the underwater world and share my passion by leading expeditions. For me, life is about experiences, connection, and saying yes to the adventure

How I got into photography
Photography has always played an important role in my life. From a young age, I loved capturing the world around me, and I bought my very first compact camera when I was 16. Eight years ago, I upgraded to more professional gear, and I’ve been learning ever since. Self-taught, I’ve honed my eye through curiosity, experimentation, and a true passion for storytelling.
In 2021, while working on Heron Island in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, I had a life-changing moment: I discovered underwater photography. It was love at first dive — and quickly became a true addiction. I’ve always felt deeply connected to nature, but what I cherish most about the underwater world is how incredibly close you can get to such extraordinary marine life.
Connecting people to Nature
Our Oceans are so wonderful but we need to all work together to protect them if we want the next generation to be able to experience them as we do! Our world is changing and our oceans have to face more and more challenges everyday. It is our duty to do everything we can to protect them.
I'm hoping that my pictures will allow people to discover the beauties of our underwater world, to connect with it and to be willing to protect it as much as I do!
As David Attenborough said "no one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced”.
